What in the world is a former attorney doing talking about self-love?
It’s a good question, and honestly, if the version of me fifteen years ago bumped into me today, she might ask the same (along with, “What do you mean former attorney?)
I was driven, ambitious, successful, and most of all – cerebral. You wouldn’t catch me talking about woo-woo stuff.
Then, one day, a startling realization: I was doing all of it for other people, and I didn’t want to do that anymore.
I couldn’t say exactly what I did want. I just knew it wasn’t this. That was enough to spur me to action.
If you’re reading this, maybe you were like me once.
You’re here, so you’re already further ahead than I was back then.
But perhaps, like me, you reached the pitch of success, only to realize that you wanted more, but you’re stalled, frustrated, and the skills that got you this far can’t get you any further.
I realized that after almost thirty years of living for other people. Then I spent another five years pulling back the layers of my head and heart, to understand more about what was holding me back, what I truly wanted, and how to get it.
I took the lessons and refined them into a clear process.
I call it the L.O.V.E. framework:
Look Within – All change begins here
Observe & Own the stories you’ve made up that hold you back, then re-write them in a self-empowering way (I call these mantras, but you don’t have to)
Voice & Verify – Create new empowering stories by making new choices
Evolve your practice, keeping what works, and tweaking what doesn’t
Twice a month, I’ll send you a short, useful note to fine-tune some part of your approach to this system, along with a few of the best things I’ve read or seen lately.
Love is a verb. And it doesn’t have to be woo-woo. There’s a way to bridge your head and your heart, unlocking and leveraging the power of both.
The Japanese have a symbol for this. It’s called Kokoro.
